Construction started on an affordable housing scheme in Brooklyn. The project is being realized by BFC Partners, L+M Development Partners and Taconic Investment Partners with support from the New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development, the New York City Housing Development Corporation and the New York City Economic Development Corporation. The 1,000-unit development will include 446 units for formerly homeless, very low-, low- and moderate-income households. The first phase of the project will feature two 16-story towers above a seven-story podium, which will include office space. The NYC Human Resources Administration will occupy 66,000 sq ft on the ground and second floors in one building. The project is slated to open in 2021.
