The region of Southern Bohemia will be holding talks in June with Accolade over the possibility of it becoming a strategic investor in the company Jihočeské letiště. The region has also been holding talks with the city of Český Budějovice over its intention to sell its 50 percent share in the same company to the region for CZK 33.17m. The Czech News Agency reports that 4,300 planes took off and landed at the airport in 2019, but that it's been closed for foreign flights during the state of emergency. Accolade also intends to discuss possible uses of regionally owned land located near the airport. A recent investment of CZK 22m into a new safety lighting system has opened up the airport for use by jet airplanes with a wingspan of 24 meters.
