Pebblebrook Hotel Trust and Margaritaville Holdings have announced their plans for Margaritaville Island Resort San Diego. The duo's first west coast property is located ten minutes from downtown San Diego on the 44 acre Vacation Island in Mission Bay. The $35 million project involves extensive renovations and the conversion of the existing property, Paradise Point Resort & Spa. The facility will feature 462 casita style single story guestrooms, 80,000 sqf of meeting space, tennis courts, pools and a marina. Davidson Hotels & Resorts will operate the property as Paradise Point Resort & Spa until the hotel is rebranded and will continue to manage the property following the completion of the renovation and rebranding program. Completion is expected in 2020.
