Work on the mixed-use scheme Artisan 4100 has begun by developer Landex Development in Brentwood, Md. The four-story building at 4100 Rhode Island Ave. is located approximately five miles from Washington D.C.’s city center. The $29 million project is designed to meet LEED Gold standards with building features including solar panels and the placement of electric vehicle charging stations along with a bicycle sharing program for resident use. The scheme is slated for completion in the spring of 2019.

“We are thrilled to be continuing our investment in the Gateway Arts District,” said Peter Siegel, CEO of Landex Development, in prepared remarks. “This is an amazing opportunity to help a vibrant area continue to grow and prosper while also supporting local art and artisans.” Artisan 4100’s sister project, Studio 3807, continues with construction just one block to the southwest that's due for completion in spring 2018.
