SSI Technologies investing $24m near Ústí nad Labem

VGP started construction on a manufacturing facility for SSI Technologies in Přestanov near Ústí nad Labem. The US-based producer of sensors and monitoring systems for the automotive and engineering industry will lease a building with 3,500 sqm of manufacturing space and 1,800 sqm of offices. It plans to invest USD 24m in Přestanov over the next three years. The first phase of the building will be completed in the last quarter of 2015. SSI Technologies is a newcomer to the Czech Republic. The step marks the start of an international expansion for a company that until now was active only on the US market. The company will supply European markets from Přestanov, according to Frank Jassner, the production director at SSI Technologies. The company plans to start production at the new facility in Q3 2016 and create 350 new jobs in the process.
