The Danish facility management company ISS is pulling out of the Czech Republic along with 12 other countries. The new strategy appears to be to focus on key accounts, rather than focusing more generally on geographic coverage. "These divestments will significantly simplify the business, reducing complexity and risk," the company wrote on its website. It claims that its total number of customers is expected to reduce by 50 percent to around 62,700 and the number of employees will fall by 20 percent to around 390,000. ISS employs roughly 3,500 people in the Czech Republic. "We must focus our capital and resource on those customers, services and geographies that can truly benefit from our future investment in processes, technology and innovation," said Jeff Gravenhorst, Group CEO.
