The incumbent President Andrzej Duda won the most votes in Sunday’s Polish presidential election. However, fell short of the 50% he needed to win without a second round of voting. According to an Ipsos projection, Duda won 41.8% of the vote and Trzaskowski 30.4%. Andrzej Duda and Rafał Trzaskowski will compete in a second round, on 12 July, in a vote that will determine Poland’s political future. Sunday's election recorded the highest level of turnout in the history of Poland's presidential contests, with 62.9% of eligible voters taking part.
